What makes skincare genuinely organic
The words “natural,” “clean,” and “botanical” are not regulated. Certification is. When we research an organic skincare product, we weigh these first:
- Certification: USDA Organic, COSMOS Organic, or a comparable third-party seal, not just an “organic” claim on the front label.
- Ingredient purity: a short, recognizable ingredient list with a high share of organic ingredients and no needless synthetics.
- Ingredient safety: low-concern ratings in independent databases such as EWG Skin Deep, and no controversial preservatives or fragrance loopholes.
- Honest labeling: on-pack claims that match the actual certification and formula.
